Larkana which is well known in the antique history of Sindh as “Chandka” and “Kalhoroki”. There is much more contribution of Kalhoro (Abbasi) ancestors of Kalhoroki (Larkana) in the religious continuum as well as in the political spectrum of the country.

 

As such many heroes of Kalhoro family in particular in this area of leaders (Kalhoroki) have been known with personage recognition as Shaheed Mian Muhammad Adam Shah Kalhoro the first religious and political leader of Kalhoro clan, his son Mian Muhammad Daud Kalhoro, his sons Shaheed Mian Shahal Muhammad Kalhoro & Mian Ilyas Muhammad Kalhoro, his son and first Kalhoro ruler of Sindh Mian Naseer Muhammad Kalhoro, his well known sons and 2nd Kalhoro ruler of Sindh Shaheed Mian Din Muhammad Kalhoro and 3rd Kalhoro ruler Mian Yar Muhammad Kalhoro, his pious son and 4th Kalhoro ruler Mian Noor Muhammad Kalhoro, his sons and 5th ruler Mian Muradyab Kalhoro and 6th ruler of Sindh Mian Ghulam Shah Kalhoro and much more other rulers of Kalhoro era of Sindh.

 

Likewise, in near past Kamred Ali Muhammad Kalhoro, Begum Dr. Ashraf Abbasi the first lady Deputy Speaker (1977 & 1988), Islamic Republic of Pakistan, his sons Sardar Haji Munawar Ali Abbasi (MPA Sindh Assembly), Dr. Safdar Ali Abbasi (Senator). It is a genuine scenario of Kalhoro folks of Kalhoroki, presently known as Larkana.

 

In this area one great leader from Kalhoro family was blessed on Sunday first November 1925 in the periphery of Larkana District Sindh by Almighty Allah. Who is well known as Moulana Jan Muhammad Abbasi (Kalhoro).

 

Moulana Jan Muhammad Abbasi since birth was a whiz kid and cerebral one. He got education in religious theme and qualified examination of ‘Moulvi Fazil’ in first position in Sindh. He had fine effective knowledge of Persian, Arabic, Pushto, English and Urdu other than having full say-so over his mother tongue Sindhi, in which he wrote down valuable literature.

 

He entered in the politics from the platform of religious party ‘Jamait Islami’ and got a notable position of Naib Ameer (Vice President) Pakistan and Ameer of Sindh.

 

Moulana Jan Muhammad Abbasi was a strong-minded, courageous, valiant, daring. He contested general election in 1977 from Larkana against the prime minister of Pakistan and founder of Pakistan Peoples Party Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. In this general election Mr. Bhutto wanted to be unopposed but Moulana Jan Muhammad Abbasi was the only contestant who could not be compromised so Moulana faced much more problems even was abducted during the election campaign in 1977.

 

Moulana Jan Muhammad Abbasi left this mortal world for ever and enon on 28th April
