Excellency Ustad Muhammad Mithal Khan Kalhoro was born on 1st of November 1921 in the House of Wadero Sultan Ali Khan Kalhoro son of Nabi Aando Khan Kalhoro son of Allahdad Khan Kalhoro son of Abdul Ghafoor Khan Kalhoro at village Tagro adjacent Ripri, taluka Gambat the then Khairpur State Sindh Pakistan. He was very beautiful and clever one among area’s children; moreover, he was a brave man. In 1931 he started his primary education at Gul Muhammad Jageerani primary School. His 1st teacher was Ustad Hafiz Imam Bakhsh Khan Larik of village Muhammad Larik near Ripri. After passing 4 classes he was admitted at Baharo Dero Primary School. After passing 6th class he was admitted in primary School Khuhra. In 1937 he passed Final Examination from Shikarpur Board.
Muhammad Mithal Khan Kalhoro is 1st man of Ripri area who qualified successfully examination of ‘Final’.
Subsequently he was appointed as Primary School Teacher in Khairpur State at newly established Primary School Ripri (1st September 1937 Wednesday) with 20 rupees salary and remain its 1st Head Master too. He was posted in various primary schools like Badal, Dilawar, Baharo etc. and he was deputed for 2+1=03years training at Khairpur city and qualified successfully. As a trained teacher his salary was increased by 05 rupees and total salary was 25 rupees.
Ustad Muhammad Mithal Khan Kalhoro is 1st man of Ripri area who was trained teacher when his own teacher like Ustad Hafiz Imam Bakhsh Larik and Ustad Ameer Bakhsh Aareejo were still un-trained later on Ustad Ameer Bakhsh Aareejo became trained in 1944-45.
In latest 40s about he was promoted as Attendance Inspector education (an Officer of the sub-divisional level). As a Inspector he was posted in Gambat, Kotdigi, Mirwah etc as sub-divisional officer. He was allocated a Camel with it’s driver as a Government conveyance till his retirement in about December 1972.
Ustad Muhammad Mithal Khan Kalhoro was well known honest Officer of the education department of Khairpur. His colleagues as a teacher were Ustad Sahibdino Soomro, Ustad Arbad Ali Soomro both of Nooro goth and Ustad Habibullah Markhand of Belharro.
He was married about 1950. He blessed with 05 daughters and 04 sons namely 1. Akhtar Husain Kalhoro (Nazim UC Ripri) 2. Niaz Husain Abbasi (District Manager HBFC Sakhar) 3. Manzoor Husain Abbasi (Administrator Thatta) 4. Dr. Mustafa Husain Kalhoro “Taagrraai” Chairman Ripri Adabi Academy Sindh (Dy Superintendent of Police).
After retirement in 1972 he involved in politics as inheritance and took charge from his old father wadero Sultan Ali Khan Kalhoro. Due to his honest and popular back ground in social life as well as politics thats why he contested with Shah Muhammad Khuhro in local bodies elections 1979 and became Member of District Council Khairpur and Taluka Council Gambat. He worked energetically without any discrimination. He fought for the rights of the poor, innocent etc and assisted the helpless, needy, widows and orphans etc. he used to give Eidi to the poor, orphans, widows and needy families specilly of village Tagro and Ripri from his own pocket and property. He also tried to eradicate the sins and crimes from the area. He respected even his opponents.
